The orchestra of The Metropolitan Opera comes to Carnegie Hall in full dramatic force for its final concert of the season. The program opens with the stormy overture to Wagner's The Flying Dutchman. The suite from Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande follows, featuring music from all five acts of the opera in just over 20 minutes, drawn largely from its gorgeous orchestral interludes. Metropolitan Opera stars Elīna Garanča and Christian Van Horn then join the orchestra in a complete concert performance of Bartók's one-act expressionist opera Bluebeard's Castle.
