Saint Mark's Choir School – Past Concerts

This dramatic telling of the Nativity story features costumes, visual art, & special instrumental accompaniment to reflect upon the Nativity of Christ. Hymns, carols, & choir anthems range from medieval chant to 21st-c. world premieres.

Themes of justice and of truth spoken to power are front and center as the captive Daniel confronts the tyrannical Belshazzar in the magnificent musical Play of Daniel, composed eight centuries ago in Beauvais, France and powerfully staged for modern audiences by Anne Azéma.

Costumes of cathedral finery, dramatic lighting within cathedral architecture, and more than 50 choristers accompanied by instrumentalists and the Flentrop organ will bring to life the story of the birth of Christ.
